Update on the Dakota Access Pipeline
On the 9th of September, a federal judge denied the tribe’s request to halt construction on the 1,170-mile pipeline. Shortly after the decision has been known, the Obama administration countered by saying it would not authorize construction on a critical stretch of the Dakota Access pipeline. At least, for now. The administration said construction would halt until it can do more environmental assessments.
That means the fight is not over! They action to stop the building of the pipeline needs to continue so that this decision can be permanent. And we need to continue to support them!
